House SOLD in just 2 minutes

Charlotte Durut

A Melbourne house has sold in the space of two minutes, and landed a result $17,500 more than the reserve.
Built three years ago with just one owner, the four-bedroom house at 42 Valiant Cres, Craigieburn attracted about 30 groups during the marketing campaign.
LJ Hooker sales manager Allen Lazar said four bidders vied for the house in “quite a quick” auction.
“It started at $500,000 and then they were going full speed,” he said.
“There were 25 bids in the 40 seconds between $500,000 and when we were over the reserve at $650,000.

“There was no thinking about it.”
Mr Lazar said the auction lasted about two minutes before the home sold for $667,500.
Mr Lazar said the bidders were all homebuyers and a local family won the keys.
“The layout of the home was nice and so was the location,” he said.
“The vendors had bought the block and built the home themselves.
“And they are now moving to Mickleham.”
The single-level house is in Aston estate and has a covered patio, chic feature wallpaper, porcelain tiles and high ceilings.
CoreLogic figures show Craigieburn’s median house price rose 10.6 per cent to $440,000, in the 12 months to April.
